What you will do

As a Data Engineer you leverage your technical and project management skills to manage the large amount of data that is crucial in developing and optimizing AI-based solutions. You automate numerous internal data flows and take the lead in creating high quality datasets used for fine-tuning and/or testing the OTIV Artificial Intelligence modules. You ensure the maintenance and implement best practices for data analytics. You work closely together with the OTIV ML and Software Engineering teams on topics including data pipelines, visualizations, versioning.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Exploring, analyzing and visualizing data.

  • Creating, versioning and ensuring datasets quality.

  • Researching, implementing and maintaining data processing pipelines (which can involve tasks like sorting, visualising, anonymising, versioning, annotating, sharing, analyzing, etc.).

  • Maintaining and improving the internal MLOps practices.

  • Translating insights into structured documentation.

  • Closely collaborating with your Machine Learning and Software Engineering colleagues.

  • Closely collaborating with OTIV’s external Data Annotation partners.

  • Keep up with advancements in data engineering practices.


Who you are

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics or Mathematics.

  • Enjoy wrangling large amounts of data.

  • Experience in OS (Ubuntu) and virtual environments (Docker, Anaconda).

  • Proficiency in Python and shell scripts.

  • Able to use versioning tools: Git, Data Versioning Control.

  • Experience with cloud data storage services, having working experience with AWS S3 is a strong plus.

  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning principles.

  • Strong communication skills, acquired through previous experiences.

  • Fluent – and professional – English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Thorough and detail-oriented mindset.

  • Data centric (able to morph between an Engineer and Scientist).
