Data Scientist @ Toqua in Gent

Job Description

Toqua is looking for a bright, motivated, and creative data scientist to bring Toqua’s modelling capabilities to the next level. By applying your ML knowledge, creativity, and passion to the domain and modelling challenge at hand, you’re constantly gaining new skills while iteratively improving Toqua’s ML models. You take a pragmatic approach to overcome the modelling challenges that will arise as Toqua scales up its modelling to more vessels throughout the industry. Through guiding client-facing projects you stay in touch with the field, the customer, and the problem – allowing you to identify gaps in modelling capabilities, improving these, and increasing the fuel-saving potential of Toqua’s ML.

Responsibilities

• Improve Toqua’s modelling capabilities through constant iterations & creativity
• Document & share your findings with the team
• Guide client-facing projects
• Stay up to date with the latest ML trends and put these into practice

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, statistics, math, physics, or similar through experience
• Understands the fundamentals of Machine Learning and is comfortable putting these into practice
• Experience with Python (TensorFlow/Keras/sklearn/PyTorch/…)
• Practical and results-oriented
• Bright, creative, and eager to lear
• 2 years of relevant professional experience
