Fing is consolidating into a single platform to help people with their networks across multiple apps, website and appliances.

Working together with the product team, this is a great opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, involved with all levels of the business that reaches millions of people every month.

At Fing we are building a new way to consider the home network as an integral part of the domestic experience, including network security, consumer-grade troubleshooting, and home protection.

Now we are looking for a Technical Writer as an external consultant, self-driven, experienced, and eager to learn new technologies continuously, for a period of about 6 months. If you are interested in joining an incredibly fun and talented mobile team and getting a chance to work with not just software but hardware as well, we look forward to hearing from you!

What will you do?

Research, Write, Improve

• Continuously study the Fing software to know its features inside out.

• Gather Fing knowledge from user stories, internal demos, and conversations with developers.

• Write and publish documentation for Fing customers on how to use the Fing software according to organizational standards.

• Work with other members of the knowledge base team to compile, review and publish documentation.

• Write the Fing changelog as new versions of the software become available.

• Contribute to the visual layout of external documentation in discussion with the documentation lead.

• Improve documentation processes in discussion with the documentation lead.

• Continuously revise both internal and external documentation to improve where possible.

I am someone who

• Is passionate about sharing knowledge using clear, concise language.

• Enjoys delving into the technical details of features to better understand them.

• Is quick and eager to learn about IT networking and asset management in general, as it relates to Fing and its software.

• Can share knowledge in various formats as required: articles, webinars, videos etc.

• Can work both independently and with relevant stakeholders to improve documentation.
• Lives in Dublin or nearby

I have

• Excellent written and spoken English language skills.

• Superb verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to take complex concepts, break them down and make them engaging.

• A basic understanding of computers and IT networks.

• Some previous experience writing technical documentation.

Going for gold?

• In-depth knowledge of IT networking and asset management.

• Experience as a system administrator using Fing.

• Experience writing technical documentation in the IT asset management field.
