UI/UX Designer @ TinkerList in Remote

TinkerList

Your mission
We’re searching for a UI/UX designer to lay the foundation and create flawless designs for the UI of new, cutting-edge SaaS platforms for content creators in Media and Live Broadcasting.

At TinkerList.tv, you’ll get to work with our team to develop projects for clients from the TV and Entertainment business from all over the globe and support Talk Show, Sports, eSports, News and Event production with our innovative technology solutions.

As a UI/UX designer, you will join a larger design and product team. In collaboration with your colleagues, you will:

  • Create user-friendly designs for our cloud-based applications, both in production as in development
  • Craft and design every detail of our new platform and feature updates: from brainstorm and user research to pixel perfect designs and deliverables
  • Develop prototypes and wireframes to test user experiences
  • Be involved in every phase, from inception to implementation, as the development team and product designers work very closely together
  • Create and document our design system to help us scale our UI/UX workflows and keep consistency in our designs.
  • Ensure designs are consistent and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Listen to end-users, understand their needs, and translate them into amazing UX designs
  • Participate in and set up testing procedures with users or leads
  • Analyse feedback from users and refine designs accordingly
  • Join the weekly brainstorm with the UX team and product owner to iterate on designs.
  • Think creatively about business needs and product goals
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
  • Share your skills and knowledge of good practices with the team in meetings and TinkerTalks.
Your profile
The facts:

  • You already have 2-5 years of experience in UI/UX and product design, whether as an employee, freelancer or self-learner
  • Without blushing, you call yourself an expert in Figma. You might say the same about Balsamiq or other wireframing software.
  • You are passionate about creating pixel-perfect designs and enjoy creating high-fidelity mockups that replicate real user interactions.
  • On top of that, you enjoy refining designs with micro-interactions and animations.
  • Creating user flows to support user stories feels like a walk in the park: you have done this before and you love it!
  • You have experience with design systems: from creation to maintenance

The figures:

  • Being fluent in English is a must; strong communication skills are the key to success when working in an international and remote team like ours.
  • You have excellent presentation skills and know how to ‘sell’ your designs, whether it’s to your fellow nerdy colleagues or users that have never seen a computer before.
  • As much as you love to think and brainstorm about designs, you have a hands-on mentality as well; you know how to translate designs into straightforward to-do’s for the development team.
  • You can be characterized by ‘strong beliefs, loosely held’. Rather than being alone on the field, you love to pass the ball to your teammates and score together. You take your time to listen and understand another’s point of view and know when to meet halfway.
  • Time zone restrictions: You are based in Belgium or elsewhere in Europe or the Middle East (up to UTC +3) to ensure a time zone overlap for collaboration with the rest of the design & development entity of this project.

Important notice: We hire people, not roles.
After reading this job description, if you feel like you don’t have all the necessary prerequisites, but that it matches what you’d like to grow into in your next position, and you are convinced you can bring other key skills, we still want to encourage you to apply. We are growing at a fast pace and have several positions open in our agile teams.
Not everybody will enter our recruitment process, but all, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply as it can only bring learning or success.

Why us?
  • A full-time contract
  • A competitive salary in line with your experience, skills, and knowledge
  • 20 paid holidays, as well as 10 public holidays, paid sick days and parental leave, with a flexible ‘no ask, must tell’ time-off policy
  • Flexible work hours and remote working
  • Learning opportunities and budget for personal development and growth
  • A friendly working environment where your voice is heard and taking ownership is highly valued
  • A health insurance program (in Belgium) or a budget for private health insurance in your country of residence when based outside of Belgium
  • A yearly team retreat that brings the whole remote team together on a secret – and mostly sunny – location, for a week filled with relaxing & teambuilding activities to strengthen our interpersonal ties.

We’re a high-growth, established scale-up with ambitious plans for the future. This presents big challenges, but also offers great opportunities for growth.

At TinkerList, we work together as an international, close-knit team from all over the world, in a family-like atmosphere.

This role can be either remote or based in Belgium, depending on your location. If you work from Belgium, you’ll be offered a spot at our office in De Hoorn, a creative co-working space in Leuven.

Note: From a legal perspective, applicants outside of Belgium are always hired as self-employed or independent contractors.
