Senior Backend Engineer (with Python skills) @HelloProf

Your responsibilities

As hands-on backend engineer you will further develop the existing platforms to support thousands of students and tutors in their learning experience.

You’ll be collaborating with a team of freelancers and our product manager. The main goal is to improve student & tutor portals, integrate additional services and implement smart automations so HelloProf’s impact can be maximised.

Your job will be to review code, develop new features and ensure future scalability.

Your profile

We’re looking for an ambitious backend engineer with 4+ years of solid Python back-end development experience and an eye for performance and scalability.

• You’ve got a Msc. in Engineering
• Django holds little to no secrets for you
• You’re open to reviewing work of junior engineers
• You can make time estimates for backend work in collaboration with the Product Manager
• You can differentiate tasks that can be done solo by a junior/frontend vs. backend engineer
• You have an understanding of modern DevOps tooling & deployment processes
• You have a great eye for spotting potential problems that can occur during deployment and you’re able to address them accordingly ensuring uptime during office hours
