Your Impact
This is an exciting opportunity for a Backend Engineer who desires to take ownership of a vital role in building and maintaining the backend of our new products. You’ll join a dynamic team dedicated to fulfilling the mission of providing top-tier solutions to the global Q-Commerce industry. 
Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team consisting of backend and frontend engineers, a product manager, and a UX designer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing new features and enhancements that enhance the user experience to cater to the demands of our bustling business clientele. Your role is central to ensuring scalability and guaranteeing the success of our mission.

A Typical Day

    • Your day will involve the design, development, and upkeep of backend APIs and microservices.
    • You’ll be focused on optimising backend systems for performance and scalability, ensuring they can efficiently handle the high volume of traffic and data that we encounter during peak Q-Commerce periods, such as the holiday seasons.
    • Development of new features and enhancements that enhance the user experience for Q-Commerce customers, such as improved tracking and order management tools.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving backend issues swiftly will be a key part of your daily routine, quickly identifying and overcoming any obstacles that may arise.
    • Collaboration with your team is vital to understanding the technical requirements of new features and enhancements.
    • You’ll channel your creativity into developing innovative new backend APIs that allow Q-Commerce businesses to integrate seamlessly with new delivery providers and payment processors.
    • You will work closely with our international teams, both in person and virtually, to establish and maintain our global product infrastructure.
    • You’ll stay current with the latest backend technologies and trends, applying your knowledge to enhance our products and services.

Your Expertise:

    • You bring over 3 years of technical experience in backend development.
    • We use Python, but if you’re experienced with another backend language with a willingness to learn Python, we want to hear from you.
    • Knowledge of REST and microservice architecture is a significant plus.
    • You have a background in computer science or have experience and familiarity with SOLID software principles
    • Your experience extends to designing, developing, and maintaining backend APIs and microservices.
    • You are skilled in performance optimisation and scalability.
    • Exceptional skills in unit testing and debugging are part of your repertoire.
    • Your prior experience working with B2B SaaS products in the Q-Commerce space is a valuable asset.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities are integral to your skillset.
    • You have experience working with international teams and enjoy fostering close, productive relationships within your in-person team.
