Internship: App Analysis Android: Permission map @ Guardsquare in Munich (DE)

In our Munich-based app analysis Java team we work on tools to automatically analyze Android apps. Our software is based on our open source bytecode manipulation library ProGuardCORE ( https://github.com/Guardsquare/proguard-core ) for static analysis, and on own tooling for dynamic analysis.

Project:

To use specific Android APIs, apps must request certain permissions. As an app developer you can check the Android documentation which permission you need to request, but no easy overview exists mapping permissions back to API. In this internship you will investigate different approaches to create such a mapping, and write a prototype for one of them.

Profile:

• Experience with Python
• Ability to independently perform structured research into a topic
