Junior IT Security Specialist (remote) @ Unbox in Holding/Group

As a Junior IT Security Specialist at Unbox, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our Service Manager in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems. You will be actively involved in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to potential security threats, as well as implementing security measures to protect against cyber-attacks and data breaches. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain hands-on experience in the cybersecurity field.

• Security Monitoring: Assist in monitoring security logs and alerts from various systems. Respond promptly to security incidents and escalate as necessary
• Vulnerability Assessment: Contribute to periodic vulnerability assessments and setup penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in the organization’s infrastructure, applications, and systems
• Security Incident Response: Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate and analyse security incidents, ensuring proper containment, and recovery procedures are followed
• Security Awareness Training: Conduct recurring security awareness training sessions for employees to promote best practices and raise awareness about cybersecurity threats
• Security Policy Compliance: Support efforts to enforce security policies, procedures, and standards throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements
• Security Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security-related activities, such as incident reports, change management documentation, and security protocols
• Security Solutions Implementation: Assist in implementing and configuring security tools and technologies to enhance the organization’s security posture, including firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection, and encryption solutions
• Security Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to propose innovative solutions for strengthening the organization’s security defenses

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field with +2 years of experience in a similar role
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or equivalent is a plus
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and information security principles
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies like firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and encryption
• Knowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Passion for learning and staying abreast of the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
