What you will do

As a streaming engineer working on OTIV.ONE you’ll contribute to an essential part of the solution, since streaming lies at the heart of it. You’ll improve upon and maintain the current connectivity/streaming infrastructure and you’ll support further development of future iterations of OTIV.ONE.


Tasks and responsibilities

  • You’ll be in charge of all (mobile) networking and real-time video streaming aspects of OTIV.ONE in its current status.

  • You’ll lead the (mobile) networking and real-time video streaming R&D aspects for future iterations of OTIV.ONE.

  • You’ll take care of the configuration, testing, deploying, maintaining and monitoring of WAN, LAN and WLAN infrastructure and equipment.

  • You’ll maintain and troubleshoot deployed OTIV.ONE units in the field and work with our clients & support teams to resolve potential issues.


Who you are

  • Bachelor/Master in Computer Science with a major focus on networking or streaming

  • Fundamental knowledge of the TCP/UDP/IP stack, application protocols (RTSP/HTTP) and streaming concepts (compression, noise, latency, decompression, package-loss)

  • Experience in most of the following:

    • Linux (Ubuntu)

    • Python and Shell scripts

    • Mobile networking (4G/5G) with custom private/public APNs

    • Real-time video streaming (rtsp/webrtc/ffmpeg/GStreamer)

    • Dealing with the unpredictability and variability of the (mobile) networking (e.g. packet loss, latency)

    • Video compression

    • Video transmission protocols (FLV, RTMP, MPEG TS, MP4, HLS, WebRTC, DASH, CMAF)

    • Any form of network security/cybersecurity

    • Testing, deploying, maintaining and monitoring of network devices

  • Knowledge of, and experience with dealing with the unpredictability and variability of connectivity (e.g., packet loss, latency, bandwidth estimation).

  • Experience with deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and logging network devices.

  • Enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced start-up environment.

  • Well-structured problem-solving approach and ability to navigate through complex and chaotic situations with a cool head.
